We have had some new arrivals at Timewarp Arcade which is always an exciting time for us aswell as you guys too! The new machine are:

Now for the bad news... When they arrived they where purchased with slight faults that we hoped to fix up. The problems on Club Kart where the cabinet was a bit rough around the edges and had screen burn and needed a bit of tarting up. After installing it and testing it we discovered there is more issues, the issue being the GPU on the Sega Naomi 2 is going to need reballing or the whole motherboard needs replacing because at the moment it will play but it has a weird checker board effect the happens right in the middle of the screen which comes and goes through out the day as the chip gets hot and cools down, at least on the plus side it is playable but doesn't look as pretty as it should.

Now on to the Ninja Assault, this cabinet was supposed to have a convergence issue with the RP-TV also the guns where a bit tatty along with the kickback not working. We started to make progress with this machine but after a few power cycles the machine started act funny with freezing, not registering shot fired and garbage graphics. After this disheartening event we left the machine and came back to it with a fresh mind, we removed the game cartridge and checked it over and to our surprise many chips and EPROMs in the cartridge must of got damp because there was a large amount of corrosion on the chip legs, we tried cleaning it up but still no joy. Puzzled we had a brain wave and tried the game cartridge in a different Sega Naomi motherboard which produced the same results, then just for giggles we tried a completely different game in the Ninja Assault (Virtua Tennis) motherboard and to our surprise Virtua Tennis fired up on the Ninja Assault which was rather amusing to see (tennis with guns LOL). On a funny side of things, we started to let Virtua Tennis play on the Ninja Assault cabinet.... that was a mistake.... the reason being is because the the volume control is remember by each game cartridge/motherboard, Ninja Assault must of been cranked up very high and considering the sound system on the Ninja Assault is MUCH more powerful than a normal Sega Naomi cabinet, the cabinet started playing the attract mode for Virtua Tennis and it was loud and we don't mean loud we mean LOUD! I had never tried to get to the power switch so quickly in my life, anyways after a change of underwear and a mild heart attack we had pinpointed the fault to the cartridge and are in the process of purchasing one.
