So, using the Capcom groove, all the characters are drawn by the Capcom artist, and the SNK groove shows all the characters drawn by the SNK artist. The SNK characters have had a great makeover by the Capcom team making them look much sharper than that of the Neo Geo. Characters Ken and Ryu are from Street Fighter III: New Generation series while the others are from the Street Fighter Alpha: Warriors' Dreams series.

There are various levels of difficulty, each with specific opponents and goals. Energy can be built up and used to deliver a "finishing move" to knock out your opponent. Some goals require as many as 100 hits in less than 10 seconds.

Final Lap 3

Year of Release: 1992 Manufacturer: Namco

The game play is similar to Pole Position. Possibly the hardest part of this game is getting used to the apparent loose steering which will cause you to spin out easily if you pay too much attention to the car on the screen. The car seems to skid sideways through turns which confuses novice players but a few laps racing against a friend should usually get you hooked.

Down shifting and brakes play major parts in keeping control of the car on the tight curves. Bumping another car will not cause you to explode as in other games of the time. You can bump another car and try to make it spin out; especially fun when playing head-to-head.

Metal Slug 6 is both a departure and a return of sorts for the series. Whereas Metal Slug 4 dealt with technological and cybernetic themes and Metal Slug 5 possessed a paranormal motif, Metal Slug 6 returns to the RebelMartian alliance featured in Metal Slugs 2, X, and 3, but on a much broader scale. Rather than repeating the previous games events of the Martians breaking the alliance and the Rebels assisting the player in turn, the player now teams up with the Rebels and Martians to combat an even greater threat.Utilizing the power of the Atomiswave platform, SNK Playmore has added graphical effects like shadow and camera zoom, as well as some cleaning up and animation addition to some sprites. In addition to this visual update, the sounds of the announcer, soldiers and hostages have been redone, and new sound effects and music are also present.

Mille Miglia 2: Great 1000 Miles Rally

Year of Release: 1995 Manufacturer: Kaneko

A driving game with top-down pseudo 3-D graphics. You can select one of ten cars and depending upon which vehicle has been chosen, you can select the starting point of the race. The game can be installed in a variety of cabinets using either a joystick and buttons or a steering wheel and foot pedals for control. This is a follow on to the original Rally series.

You have 60 seconds to get from the starting line to the finish line. Finishing within 60 seconds allows you to go on to the next race. If you lose, a continue option is available.

The screen scrolls fast. The only way you know about a turn coming up is by a little indicator that flashes with a picture of the turn. There are zig-zags, hairpins and all other cool turns, most of which you have to steer into in order to make it though. The play control using a joystick is a little awkward at first, but it becomes comfortable after a while.

Rather than the standard fare of allowing players to pick up objects to use as weapons against the enemy however, Mutation Nation instead uses a system where the player can pick up one of four elemental spheres that allows the player the ability to unleash screen filling super attacks. Prop Cycle

Year of Release: 1996 Manufacturer: Namco

You pilot a winged bicycle and try to earn points by popping the hot-air balloons you see ahead of you. You have to reach the minimum quota of points in order to advance.

Within a certain time limit, you need to locate and pop (by flying through) the balloons scattered throughout each of the three stages. The balloons are typically placed in a formation that allows for efficient flight paths if you can figure them out. Most balloons are worth points, but some add time to the clock.

You can either try the Time Attack (where you try for maximum score on a single stage) or play the Story Mode (and try to make it through all three lands).

In Time Attack, you will be rated based on how many balloons you pop. If you clear a Time Attack, you will receive bonus points based on the time remaining. This is your key to high scores.

You receive less time in Story Mode and must learn the difficult flight paths that will lead you to the best balloons so you can pop them before time runs out. You must meet the quota to move on to the next land.

Maneuver your plane through the enemy's territory, dodging the vast amounts of fire directed at you. Take out each of the enemy's huge weapons to move on to the next stage. Each mission culminates with an assault on a huge enemy vehicle or fort that requires attacking multiple points. Once this super vehicle has been defeated, the mission is complete. Finish the game by completing the final mission.

You can choose from any of seven different fighters. Two of them, the Raiden and the Judge Spear, come from prior Seibu games, although the Judge Spear will not perform like it does in Viper Phase I. The remaining five are new.

The Raiden MkII and the Judge Spear have both lasers and missiles, which can be combined together. They each also possess their own signature bombs (Raiden's Thermonuclear Bomb and Judge Spear's Plasma Bomb) and start each life with three of them. For all the other planes, you either have missiles or a laser (not both), but in return you have the ability to charge (hold down the fire button until an aura forms) and release massive power shots. The planes also share the Firestar bomb and start each life with two of them. By holding down Bomb, you can allow the bomb to fly forward and then detonate it by releasing the button.
